"You know how you find certain perfect vacation rentals and you wish that they could be your own little secret so that they would always be available for you when you want them? Well this is certainly one of those places. My husband, our 14 year old daughter and I all agreed that this was the perfect spot for our first trip to Costa Rica. The Playa Flamingo area is just what we were looking for and so was this condo. We went to Tamarindo for a few hours one day and we were so happy that we had not opted to rent a place there. It was far too touristy for us. Playa Flamingo is a beautiful beach and not overrun with tourists. This condo has a STUNNING view and is a 5 minute walk from Mar y Sol, one of the best restaurants in Costa Rica. Sunset view is perfect and the balcony is a great place for coffee and breakfast in the morning. You can lay in bed in the master and see the ocean and hear the waves crashing on the sand. The kitchen and master bath have granite counters, the master bath is nice and large as is the closet area. The owners have a friend in the area, Willie, who is a very knowledgeable local who is extremely helpful and will take care of any maintenance issue that might arise. There is security on the premises but we always felt very safe. The owners have another condo right on a private beach nearby. If you have small children this would be a great place to stay because the waves are gentler than they are at Playa Flamingo and you can just walk out the door and go to the beach. It is also great if you are scuba divers because it is about 20 steps from the dive shop that we used for our 2 dive trip on the first day in Costa Rica. I would definitely recommend them too. They are called AquaCenter and our dive master was Andy and he was very good."

The three of spent 2 weeks in Playa Flamingo. This condo was very spacious, clean & comfortable. A cork screw & matches would have been handy!!!! Beautiful view from the balcony. Steep climb up & down to beach, managed it with a "bum" knee. Willie was a GEM. He out did himself in helping us through a minor (not at the time!) crisis. Be sure you take the Pala Verta River Cruise with Hector or Christian-- both are awsome tour guides. We hope to come back.

"I loved Flamingo Beach and this condo. It is everything described in the write-up and the private balcony looks out to the Pacific, just like the photo shows. This condo sits up on a hill and, once we discovered the back way in and out, getting off the hill was a breeze. There are good restaurants within walking distance ( Willie's Place across the upper road) and Marie's down at the base of the hill and there is a small casino across the road from Marie's. You can walk to the beach. Our weather was perfect - 7 days of sun, in the 90's, with a slight breeze. We will definitely go back."
Owner response: Thank you Sally for your kind words about our home. We think its truly amazing, but its so very nice to hear your comments and compliments. We really want every family to enjoy Costa Rica as we do, and we hope our home is up to all your expectations. I guess I cant take credit for the beautiful weather, or the stunning view...but we truly love this country and are thrilled that your expierence was wonderful. We look forward to having you as a guest in our home again soon! Pura Vida!!

"The location of this property is perfect! Pools on site and beaches very easy to get to, it is hard to decide where to spend the day. Everything you need is in the condo from a dishwasher to a washer dryer- we lost our luggage so the washer dryer was a very real necessity. Everything worked when we arrived so there was no need to call anyone to do anything for us, but the owners gave us the number of a local that was more than helpful when we needed to find our luggage. He did all of the calling to the airlines and delivered the luggage to us. If you want to kick back and relax this the the place, if not every activity you can think of is nearby, and that is good as the roads are not the best.... I suggest that first thing in the morning you have tea on the spectacular balcony (just as in the picture) then as you take in the view you decide what to do for the day, but any decision will result in a great memory."

"This place was absolutely stunning. Owner was right- just up from 2 of the most beautiful beaches. Flamingo is amazing, not very crowded and very safe. a sandy beach- not rocky, so you can walk way out into the surf without worrying. Portero has fewer people, and better snorkeling because there are big volcanic rock formations that are just amazing. and the views- "million dollar view" doesnt even cut it! We woke up every morning to the ocean waves lapping the shore. Best wake up call ever. Loved all of the modern appliances, washer dryer, great fridge and dishwasher, and nice big flat screen tvs and DVD players. The whole place was well stocked- we had everything we needed! Make sure you visit Mar Y Sol for 5 star food, and meet the gourmet chef Alan- (who speaks french, and a little english and spanish). The monkey bar is also great, and you get full access to their 5 pools and tennis courts and bars and such, which is great! You can definitely tell the owners put a lot of thought into this place, and its very comfy. I'd recommend it to all my friends and family."

"We stayed for 3 months this past winter and can't say enough. The apartment lived up to the photos, the location is fantastic. There was plenty of space for us, and for guests, more than enough closet space and cupboards. Kitchen was equipped with enough to do most of our own cooking without difficulty. Great fridge with cold water and ice, and we were happy to have a dishwasher when we had company. The patio was heavenly and the sunsets were amazing! Our only comment would be that because everything is up a very steep hill it's not really suitable for the elderly or those with physical limitations to walk. However, that's what makes the views so spectacular. The beach at Flamingo is gorgeous, the beach at Potrero is great for long walks. Excellent food in the area. we highly recommend Las Brisas on Potrero Beach, Marie's in the plaza, Antoinette's is outstanding!!! Make sure to visit Willie at Estela de Fuego and if you're not having seafood...order their pepper steak. I've had nothing better, anywhere in the world. Try a trip to Playa Grande or Playa Avellana for world-class shell collecting. The bar at Playa Avellana (Lola's)is wonderful. A great day trip for the entire family and worth the drive to get there. Zip Lining was great. We did the half-day Congo Trail tour and it was plenty. The gift shop at the Congo tour was the best we encountered anywhere on our trip. The woods were beautiful and the prices were better than anywhere else. Regretted that I didn't buy more once I realized that. Even our 5 year old grand-daughter went by herself on some of the lines. The water is absolutely fine for drinking, no bottled water required. Buy local food, there's a huge tax on imports and the local food is wonderful. We recommend the best grocery shopping in Tamarindo. Try Turrialba cheese and anything by Dos Pinos or Britt. We found everything we wanted and more. The food exceeded our expectations. Local beers are great and inexpensive. We recommend Imperial beer. Cooler bag in the apartment is so handy when shopping. The owners went way beyond helpful and we enjoyed meeting them when they were visiting. Pool was clean, elevators usually worked well. Loved the view from our patio! Take a walk along the ridge to see some beautiful villas and views. We would recommend this property without hesitation to friends or relatives. Pura Vida!"
